Abstract
In the twenty-first century, television has increasingly moved toward specialization and personalization, driven by an audience-centric approach. With the emergence of nonlinear networks, programming is now tailored to individual interests and the preferences of specific audience groups. In Iran, national broadcasting has taken initial steps in this direction by launching specialized networks for sports, health, animation, and more. However, one significant gap remains—the establishment of a dedicated art network focused specifically on Iranian culture and art. The creation of a specialized Iranian-Islamic art network requires the careful design and formulation of unique components, characteristics, and elements deeply rooted in Iran’s cultural, religious, and even Shiite jurisprudential traditions. Without such a foundation, the success and sustainability of such a network would be unattainable. This study seeks to develop a framework for such a network by drawing upon Gerbner’s cultivation theory, analyzing both the advantages and challenges of establishing a specialized art network in Iran. Based on this framework, the research suggests that the primary challenge in launching this network is not structural but rather content-related. This study is applied research that employs thematic analysis in its methodology. It is a qualitative study, structured within a conceptual model, aiming to define a specialized art network based on Iranian-Islamic notions.
